A big shout out to Logitech for being kind...

thedailycrazy:

A big shout out to Logitech for being kind enough to send me a free wireless receiver for my G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse —

— (I lost that small piece a few weeks ago, most likely at school). I never got to tell you guys how much I love Logitech products!! They are the best of the best. This mouse is awesome!! It’s perfect for gaming (duh) and you can custom set the buttons to do whatever you want! When not gaming, I’m able to control my computer’s volume, play/pause, back/forward on web browser pages or on my music. Not to mention being able to switch the scrolling from manual to automatic is probably the most convenient thing there is. It comes with a wireless receiver and a micro usb cable plus an extended cable, just in case!

Aside from the mouse I also own a Harmony Universal Remote —— which makes my life a million times easier when switching between inputs on the TV (after I lost my main TV remote). You can custom set each button to do whatever you want as well, with an easy to use program on the computer! It also comes with a micro usb cable to sync your custom settings.

Logitech products are smart, advanced, sexy (yes I said sexy) and I know that once I get my own place and build my own desktop, I will buy all their gaming keyboards and mice, and just have a huge collection to the point that it will almost be kind of sad.

SuckerPunch has really did a great job at bringing me back into this game with relative ease. This is the refresher trailer they have released for those who might have forgotten about InFamous, the sandbox open world action adventure about a man who obtains powers from a device known as the ray sphere, to battle an imeminent foe known as “The Beast.”

This time around the protagonist, Cole, will be followed by two women who will be influential in Cole’s decision making for the new city, New Marais. I loved the first game of this series, and I am hoping that Sucker Punch continues doing great things with this next release.

Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition: Now Announced for...

Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition: Now Announced for Consoles and PC

I believe, in...

Sony vs Microsoft: Engaging the Hacker Community

I believe, in many respects, that most companies do a piss poor job of handling the hacker community. When hackers get involved with technology, they begin to use products differently than their original intended use. Normally they push the product to do far more than what was originally designed for, but in order to do this they break a few mechanics and open things up that were closed down.

I can understand why a company would be upset about tampering with their product, but given todays society and the way the world works, bad public relations (PR) is really not worth the hassle. If only Sony agreed with me…

Public hacker George Hotz (aka geohot) is being sued right now by Sony for his recent hacks on the PS3. Geohot was successful in opening up the PS3 and making it play homebrew games and do PS2 emulation. He also released the Metldr key for the PS3, the metldr key cannot be updated, so the PS3 is basically hacked for good. Sony didn’t like this at all, and is now suing geohot. It’s a shame too, this terrific hacker showed interest in working for a company like Sony and this is how they react to his skill. Geohot has gone on the offensive, making a rap song against Sony and even asking for money for lawyers against the titans (I’ll probably be donating to the cause).

Microsoft, surprisingly has taken a much different stance on the matter. With the XBox 360 Kinect, Microsoft has been surprisingly accepting of the hacker community, releasing the software development kit (SDK) within the coming week. Originally it was thought that Microsoft would lock down the device, but it seems they are happy with the recent stunts of playing Angry Birds and World of Warcraft.

As progress in today’s modern world, I feel it is necessary to acknowledge the power of the hacker community and the loyalists that are among them. Geohot could have been a prized gem for Sony, but this is what happens when companies make bad decisions, like threatening to ban all users of the exploits Geohot found and what not. It’s a shame that more companies aren’t open to the idea of the hacker community taking interest in their products.

Annoying Web Music Players

No seriously, didn’t MySpace die already? Why the hell do you guys still use embedded music for your blogs and whatnot? I can’t even focus on your page because the first thing I want to do when I arrive to your site is either mute my computer or leave the site because you interrupted my music! At least give me the option to play the music when I want, honestly if it is noticeable enough and not too much of a pain I will generally pause my music and listen. But don’t shove your crap music out of my speakers and down my throat.
