This has got to be one of the coolest designs I have ever seen! This is a concept design [meaning it’s NOT REAL] but it could be in the works. This design features a phone that you where like a wristwatch. you disconnect the phone piece from the watch to make calls, text, and a number of other things. Coolest thing is the wristband will tell you when you are leaving the area without the phone piece by vibrating to let you know you are out of its vicinity.

The power of the invention is really superb, I think an idea like this would go a long way with a stable, popular mobile OS on it like Android or WP7. Actually I personally would like to see WP7 with this technology as I think it would benefit Microsoft greatly, putting their mobile industry back in the runnings with Apple and Google. I can’t really see this technology being paired with iOS 4 or something from Google because of the design creativity. Seems more like Windows to me. Hell I’d even be open to RIM taking on this design as a Blackberry model. It’d be a shame if Samsung wasted this design concept with their own clunky, less user friendly UI… I say let a professional take this one on.

This product design comes from Johan Loetiko as a concept design he did for Samsung in 2009. I really hope this is in the works, but as for right now all we can do is hope. Be sure to check out Johan Loetiko’s other work as he is a really talented guy!
